 About Me <3

Hey there! I'm Marie, the slightly quirky brain behind this mental health haven. They say laughter is the best medicine, so I thought, why not mix a little humor with the serious stuff?

Who am I?

I am not your typical therapist in a white coat. Instead, I have no degree to "prove" my education. You'll usually find me sporting colorful socks and a bottle of water (maybe a Sprite). But do not let the socks fool you -- I've got a heart full of empathy and a brain full of strategies to help you navigate the rollercoaster of life.

My Journey.

My path to becoming your friendly neighborhood advocate was anything but ordinary. I've had my fair share of "interesting" life experiences, and I firmly believe that sometimes, you have to laugh to keep from crying.

Why the Laughter?

I'm a firm believer that humor can be a lifeline. It's like a warm, fuzzy blanket on a chilly day or that first sip of coffee in the morning. In our conversation, I'll sprinkle in a dose of humor because sometimes, we all need a break from the heavy stuff.

Let's Solve Puzzles Together

Mental health is like a giant puzzle, and I'm here to help you find the missing pieces. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, or just the everyday craziness of existence, we'll work together to put that puzzle back together.

What You'll Find Here

In this corner of the internet, you'll discover a blend of practical advice, heartwarming stories, and maybe a meme or two. My mission is to break down the stigma around mental health while keeping it real -- and hilarious.

So, welcome to our little corner of the internet. Let's laugh, learn, and heal together. You're not alone on this journey, and I promise, there's a lot of sunshine behind those clouds. After every storm there is a rainbow. <3

Understanding Stress and Coping Strategies

Stress. It's like that unexpected guest who shows up uninvited, eats all your snacks, and overstays their welcome. But fret not, for in this article, we'll unravel the mysteries of stress and arm you with some quirky coping strategies. Grab your popcorn; we're in for a rollercoaster of understanding and humor. 1. Meet the Stress Monster:     Imagine stress as a monster. It lurks in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to pounce. Sometimes it's big and scary, like Godzilla, and other times it's tiny but relentless, like a persistent mosquito. The first step to dealing with stress is giving it a name and a face. Let's call ours "Stressy the Stressasaurus." 2. The Stress Paradox:     Stress is like a seesaw. On one side, there's "Responsibility," weighing it down like an elephant on a teeter-totter. On the other, there's "Self-Care," lifting it up like a helium balloon. Finding the balance is like mastering circus

Getting to the Core: How it all Began

Why is all of this happening to me?      I always found myself asking this same redundant question. Mental illnesses can sometimes be as elusive as that missing sock you swear you put in the washing machine. We all know they exist, but finding the root cause can feel like searching for buried treasure with a plastic shovel. Fear not, fellow adventurers! In this whimsical journey through the labyrinthine world of our minds, we'll explore the art of digging deep to uncover the mysteries behind our mental maladies. 1. The Shovel of Self-Discovery:     Imagine we're all equipped with a magical shovel called "Self-Discovery." It's not your typical spade; it's imbued with curiosity, resilience, and a pinch of humor. Armed with this shovel, we embark on a quest to excavate the layers of our psyche. 2. Unearth the Past:     The first step in mental spelunking is to dig into your past. You might encounter the "parental over-protection" rock or the "teen

Some Random Things You May Not Know

WHAT EVEN IS THIS?     Poor grammar aside, what are we even dealing with here? What is this invisible ghost that haunts us even in our happiest moments? Well... I am going to do my best to break a few things down, mentioning the small things that Google refuses to mention about mental health, things that we probably do not even realize are side effects, starting with my own personal experiences that I live with on a daily basis.  Disclaimer: this is meant to be personal but relatable. This is not everyone's experience.     NAIL BITING. As I have come to find, nail biting is a symptom of anxiety and can also be a form of self harm if left unchecked. It is usually subconscious and is a terrible habit. Believe it or not, not everyone does this... THERE ARE ACTUALLY PEOPLE WHO LET THEIR NAILS GROW. Not me though. So there is also a few other impulsive things that can happen right alongside nail biting. Running your fingers through your hair and checking to see if you have pulled any
